Assembled from parts by a former NOVAC member who was a machinist. This a wonderful instrument for sweeping up star fields and hunting down the Messier objects. Or just a great "grab and go" scope.

Also makes a terrific bird and nature watching telescope.

Very quick set up time with sturdy tripod. Lots more photos below features list.

Features:

Custom wood carrying case, holds OTA, counter weights, dew shield and other parts. Felt lined;
Wood and alumium tripod. Very sturdy. Legs extend, although I've never used it with the legs extended;
4-inch f/8 achromatic objective lense. Very sharp, shows no color at lower powers, shows normal color at medium and high powers;
Alt-azimuth mounts converts into a partial equatorial mount;
Slow motions on azimuth/RA axis;
30mm finder scope;
Machined lens cap for the objective;
Press fit dew cap;
1.25-inch rack and pinion focuser;
Brass draw tube on focuser allows for up close focusing with just about any eyepiece or camera body;
Adjustable counterweights allow for balancing different eyepieces;
Comes with 90 degree prism;
Comes with older Orion 45 degree erect image prism;
